Imagine your body is a house… and every room is a part of you, your mind, your heart, your breath, your memories. Sometimes the rooms get messy. Some are too loud, others feel empty or stuck. That’s where sound comes in… as a vibration, rhythm and space… helping you clean, balance and soften the house you live in.

Crystal Pyramids

Let's start with the windows, your headspace… the Crystal Pyramids are like the mind clearers. Pyramids are like opening all the windows and letting in fresh air. They ring out clear, bright sounds that help blow away the mental fog. If you’ve been thinking too much, stressing, or feeling tired behind your eyes… pyramids help you feel alert again, like your thoughts just took a deep breath.

They’re great for:

  • Helping with focus.

  • Increase energy

  • Easing racing thoughts.

They may not calm you straight away… but they clear the clutter so calmness has room to arrive.

Crystal Singing Bowls

Then we have the soothing Crystal Singing Bowls… they’re like walking into a quiet room with sunlight coming through the curtains.

Each bowl sings a note, and when two are played together… they create a feeling, a mood. Some combinations feel warm and kind, some may feel like a deep “yes” in the body.

 These bowls are great for:

  • Helping with sleep issues

  • Easing chronic pain by calming the nervous system

  • Supporting those with anxiety, or those who struggle to feel their emotions

The body listens with more than just ears… and the bowls help it remember how to rest.

Himalayan Bowls

Now picture stepping into a room with stone walls and a glowing fire… that’s the world of the Himalayan Bowls. Their sound is more earthy and ancient… rich tones that you don’t just hear, you feel humming deep in your chest and belly.

These bowls are grounding and centering. They help you feel safe in your body, steady in your breath, and connected to something timeless. Many people describe the sound as comforting… like being held in a warm embrace.

Himalayan bowls are wonderful for:

  • Calming a busy mind when emotions feel overwhelming

  • Easing physical tension, especially in the chest and stomach

  • Supporting meditation by helping you drop into stillness quickly

They bring the body and mind back to the present … like returning to your roots after drifting too far.

Gongs

Now, imagine going to the basement of your house. It’s the place we store things… memories, tension, unspoken feelings. That’s where the gong lives.

Gongs are powerful. They don’t play tidy notes like the bowls… they make waves. Gentle or big, rolling sound waves that wrap around the whole room. You can feel them in your chest or your back. Sometimes they make you feel dreamy, like you're floating.

They’re great for:

  • Helping the mind let go of control

  • Easing emotional pain held deep in the body

  • Supporting people with conditions like Parkinson’s, where the nervous system needs help finding rhythm again

  • Helping shift long-term patterns of stress and fatigue

Science even backs it up… these deep sounds can help reduce cortisol (your stress hormone) and move the brain into states like theta, which is linked to meditation, dreaming and healing.

Drums

Now imagine walking up from the basement and feeling your feet hit the floor… that's where we find the drums, the grounders.  It plays a steady beat… just like your heart… boom... boom... boom...boom.  That beat tells your body,  you’re safe now.

Drums help:

  • Easy anxiety

  • Lower blood pressure

  • They’ve even been used in studies to help people with Parkinson’s and stroke recovery, because rhythm helps the brain fire in time again.

Drumming helps you reconnect with your body... its like building a strong foundation under your house.

Percussion Kit

Think of this as the soft switches… the way we gently turn the lights back on in the house after a deep sleep.

Instruments like:

  • Rainsticks… soft showers of sound, like rain tapping on the windows

  • Thunder drums… gentle rumbles that stir awareness in the body

  • Shakers and chimes… light, sparkling touches that guide the senses home

I use the percussion kit to help a client return gently from an altered state of consciousness. It’s not abrupt… It's like dawn arriving. Little by little, these sounds help the nervous system reorient, so the client feels safe, steady, and fully back in their body.

It’s the final moment of the session… the part where everything begins to land.

Percussion… gentle sounds to ground, awaken, and bring you back into the here and now

I hope this little story has given you a clearer picture of how each instrument can be used. These are just a handful of their benefits... each one has much more to offer, and many of their effects naturally overlap. For instance, both Gongs and Himalayan bowls can support pain relief as well as deep relaxation.

If you feel curious, the best way to truly understand sound therapy is to experience it for yourself. I’d love to welcome you to a session, where you can simply let the sound wash over you and notice how it makes you feel 😊
